  • solo movement exercises on the floor and massage protocols to help awaken the erotic body

  • teaching and practice of the Essos form which focuses on enlivening the erotic body both physically and psychospiritually;

  • intimate discussion of Post-Daoist and Neo-Romantic understandings of Eros and sexuality, and how it is understood and expressed in your life.

Teachings on Eros is an entire program that celebrates Eros as a mythopoetic necessity of the soul, and a call to one’s unique destiny.

The philosophy delves into the wide definition of Eros from a Post Daoist and neo-Romantic perspective; new understandings of Yin and Yang essence and how they are distinct from notions of gender; the concept of the Jingqi bridge and how that informs our approach to sexual wounding; the connection between Desire, Destiny and the Soul; and the Beauty of Aging and Sexuality.

ESSOS form is a newly created series that is a concise amalgamation of Jing Retrieval, Erogeny, Eros Bridge and Epicene forms. It carries us from the acknowledgement of sexual trauma all the way to the beauty of the more sensually explicit forms. Essos is derived from the blending of the words Essence and Eros; it is the inmost place inside us where our sexual desire intersects with our destiny. In other words, our Essos reflects the understanding that the blueprint of our sexual desire, which is our life force, is also the blueprint of our soul and that it is through our erotic communion with the world that we reach into circumstances and events in order to fulfill the purpose of our lives. In the form, we build an auto-erotic, mythopoetic vessel to experience the sovereignty of multitudinous aspects of sexuality without the risks that come with actual integrative sexuality.

Mythosomatic Qigong forms within the Teachings on Eros are highly specific movements that utilize poetic evocations of personal mythos as a felt experience in the soma in order to draw the body and the soul toward one another. The choreographies are medicinal, psychological, archetypal and spiritual in nature and are for the nourishment of sexual energy in men, women, non-binary, intersex and transgender people. These qigong forms build life force or sexual vitality by attuning to our Jing, our procreative essence, which holds the blueprint or code of our destiny. These include the Erogeny form, Eros Bridge form, Transnumina form and Epicene form.

Erogeny Form has to do with getting the bodies’ sexual trauma responses to a point where erotic health can begin. The body is being prepared for the possibility of pleasure. It is the mythopoetic somatic of the journey from damage to empowerment through sexual wound or  trauma. The reaffirmation of innocence through the power of an unspoken sexuality.

Eros Bridge Form is a 7-form series designed for individuals who seek a slowe, gentle approach to their sensual selves and their sexual potential, or who are negotiating some form of non-acute sexual trauma. It is designed specifically to slowly and accountably grow faith in one’s sexual body—or to grow back faith after one has been traumatized by the discrepancy between their native desire and their actual sexual experiences.

Transnumina Form are foundational forms necessary for understanding the mutuality of yin and yang and for imbuing the body with self-esteem and with a soma that is connected with spiritual power. The spirituality of sexuality is where its power comes from and is derived from the relationship one has with oneself.

Epicene Form is the Depth Sexuality Program’s 7-form series for sexual vitality and the liberation that comes from seamless contact with one’s Jing, or vital life force. It is an intensely sexualized and erotic qigong form, the living embodiment of explicit sexual cultivation, expression and erotic freedom.

Jing Retrieval is a foundational energetic meditation that uses breathwork and esoteric locks or gates to nourish and cultivate our inmost qi—the very will to be and live. For those interested in lifting libido and embracing the ecstatic practices, this series is the foundation for those life-affirming arts.

Self-cultivation Practice is a calling to our Jing—our sexual essence and our destiny—to come into our present life. The practice involves a detailed Massage Protocol: one for male anatomy and one for female anatomy, which moves from a Therapeutic Phase to an Arousal Phase and finally to the potential for Ecstasy. The entire series will refund, resurrect, and circulate one’s basic stores of vital procreative energy. It is medicinal in that it tonifies our organs and stimulates our endocrine system and it is emotionally healing in that we make self-esteem and internal power by how we touch ourselves in this practice.

Returning Origins is the practice of the alternation between Jing Retrieval and Self-cultivation. We build arousal in stages and use that energy to exponentially increase the circulation of qi through the microcosmic orbit.

Erotogenic Movements are a series of gentle yoga-like movements that both enliven and relax the sensual body by strengthening key muscles that support sexual vitality and increasing blood flow to the erogenous zones.

Anatomy of Arousal is the study of the erogenous bodies of male, female, intersex and transgender people.

Art of Intimate Relationships include Post-Daoist perspectives on Desire and Destiny, Sexual Wound, Essence versus Gender, Queering the Norm, the Role of the Imagination, Dark Eros, Monogamy & Polyamory...as well as explorations in the explicit arts of ecstatic lovemaking for individuals of all sexual preferences.

All of this work is attended to with the greatest care and respect, in an open, healing, and non-intimidating atmosphere of supreme reverence, sacredness, with a mixture of both profundity and levity.

Testimonials

“The Soul in Sex series was a life giving and life changing introduction to the embodied philosophy of Post-Daoism. I was relatively new to this practice coming into this series and have been entirely surprised and humbled by how deeply revealing and nourishing this course has been. These in-depth teachings, discussions and embodied practices around the fundamental erotic nature of life have enriched my understanding and felt sense of who I am. Sunny is one of the most generous, passionate, and intelligent teachers I have come across.  She sensitively crafted an inclusive space (over zoom no less!) which allowed for a flourishing of learning, intimate sharing, and community across continents. I could not recommend, celebrate, and regard this course and Sunny more highly..”

~Chris Burgess, Melbourne, Australia

“I wanted to write to let you know how deep and profound last week's class was. I journeyed deeply, and had a beautiful transformation later in evening. I am so grateful to be in this course. If there was any doubt, I am reflecting to you that being on zoom is not interfering with the potency or quality of teaching. I feel very grateful to practice with you in this way.”

~S. Ryan, WA

“I feel as if I am in very safe and capable hands… your intonation, your content, your heartfelt holding within Mogadao. You began with a very good introduction to the context and principles which were important for me to gain some understanding. The thing that has had the biggest impact is the concept of an erotic connection with nature. I never thought of nature as erotic and now you have opened the possibility that there is erotic joy everywhere. I love it!"

~Charley Bradley, Pico Island

Another “stunner” class– wonderful and wondrous. Thank you with all my heart for your dedication and devotion to this work, to your own sexuality and that of others, and the courage to share it. You are truly a Guiding Light in an area that is so in desperate need of it that my heart aches. Thank you for your vulnerability and your openness."

~Véronique Smith, Melbourne, Australia

“You have an incredibly warm and inviting presence, and a tremendous depth of knowledge that comes across clearly and with great care.”

~G. Kieval, Portland, OR

“I'm getting so much out of this class, it's the highlight of my week! I especially enjoyed this last week's class, I felt flushed and energized afterward. Thanks Sunny, you're such a wonderful teacher.” xoxo

~H. Strongheart, Santa Fe, NM

“I love the natural way you present, from your experience and what you know and have learned. No hype, no artifice… You are planting seeds in me that will grow into giant sequoias for the rest of my life.”

~C. Owens, Santa Fe

“I am proud to call this woman, Sunny Smyth, my mother. She is a brilliant teacher of qigong, yoga, and sacred sexuality. She helped me embrace my emerging sexuality from an early age, encouraging and supporting me to dive deeply into its power and sacredness. She raised me to speak my truth vulnerably, live from my heart and follow my unique blueprint. She showed me, by her example, to unwaveringly pursue my deepest loves and passions. Her deep commitment to a life of practice modeled for me the meaning of real devotion. She has truly mastered the ways of health and vitality in her later years. Her teaching is gentle, yet precise and direct. These ancient/modern practices are her life, and it would be a blessing to learn from her.”
